क्या सूचना मांगने के लिए कारण बताना आवश्यक है?

नहीं, सूचना का अधिकार (आरटीआई) अधिनियम, 2005 के तहत सूचना मांगने के लिए कारण बताना आवश्यक नहीं है। आरटीआई अधिनियम की धारा 6(2) के अनुसार: "सूचना के लिए अनुरोध करने वाले आवेदक को सूचना मांगने का कोई कारण बताने की आवश्यकता नहीं होगी..." इसका अर्थ है: आपको केवल अपना नाम और संपर्क विवरण प्रदान करना होगा। आपके अनुरोध के पीछे का उद्देश्य या मकसद अप्रासंगिक है। जन सूचना अधिकारी (पीआईओ) आपसे यह नहीं पूछ सकते कि आप सूचना क्यों चाहते हैं। यह प्रावधान सुनिश्चित करता है कि नागरिक भेदभाव या उत्पीड़न के डर के बिना पारदर्शिता की मांग कर सकते हैं।
